Get Right With God – Wealth won’t save your soul
Well friends, easter looms up on us over the next couple of weeks and maybes I’ll have to dig around for some appropriate numbers and words on that account. For this week we’re keeping it country, none other than Hank Williams hisself. Hank made a good number of religious recordings in his time despite his inability to walk the walk, if you will. ‘ I Saw The Light’ would be about the most famous of those I guess, and there’s also a bunch of story telling type things he done as Luke the Drifter. Mostly his secular songs were more unique than his sacred stuff though ‘I’ll have a new body….’ has always been a personal favourite of mine and you might think a sentiment ol’ Hank could really get behind. What with him having made such a wreck of the first one he got an all. He’d be 88 if he was still with us, which ain’t impossible. Yet he died before there was rock ‘ n’ roll and sounds like a voice from another time, ain’t that crazy? The other tune here is on the matter of money and how it’s love is a harm to people and to those around them. This has kinda been on my mind too of late, so much so we even gonna have a bible verse here today for you –
“For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.” 1 Timothy 6:10
Now only a fool can’t see that for the truth it’s always been if y’all ask me.
