Get Right – Dolly

Well children, last time we came together here ol’ Merle was singin’ a Dolly Parton song. Seemed like an idea to have a lil’ bit of Dolly this time around then. That chapel there is in Dollywood, which is now 25 years in business, how about that? Even her own theme park has been going a quarter century. We love Dolly here, I think it’s fair to say we won’t see her kind again anytime soon. She ain’t never gone too much on singin’ the religious music as it goes but she made a great record called ‘Golden Streets Of Glory’ in 1971 which has been reissued a number of times, sometimes as ‘I Believe’. ‘Lord, Hold My Hand’ is off of it, and very good it is too. Other tune we gots for you here today is ‘Shine On’ which is a harmony vocal thing and just so, so lovely. Close you eyes and let it wash over you. It’s from the ‘Hungry Again’ record that saw Dolly get herself back to some bluegrass and lead to the wonderful  ‘The Grass Is Blue’ and ‘Little Sparrow’ albums, both of which you should check out if you ain’t heard ’em.
